Position Name: Operations Engineer 

Department: Plant Operations

Salary Range:  $28.94 - $45.63 Hourly

Schedule:  Full-Time 12:00 AM - 08:30 AM

Reports To: Plant Operations Supervisor

Summary: 

To provide safe and continuous operation of boilers, chillers, air conditioning systems, potable water, and wastewater systems, electrical distribution systems, stand-by, electrical generator systems, medical gas distribution systems, fire detection, extinguishing, and alarm systems, and other related mechanical and electrical equipment, dietary equipment, laundry equipment, and other patient-related equipment in a timely manner and to a satisfactory conclusion.

Requirements: 

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Five (5) years of experience in the operations and maintenance of high-pressure gas or oil-fired boilers, refrigeration equipment, and auxiliary facilities are expected.
  • Knowledge of the basic safety procedures to operate the following equipment:
    • High-pressure boilers
    • Centrifical, absorption, and reciprocating chillers
    • Diesel engine electrical generator sets
    • Air compressors
    • Portable and mechanical hot water systems
  • Knowledge and ability to use common tools and test equipment relating to mechanical and electrical systems
  • Ability to read blueprints pertaining to the Mechanical and electrical systems in the physical plant
  • Valid City of Los Angeles Steam Engineer license required
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions in English
