Registered Nurse, Stroke Coordinator (RN)
Department: Stroke Department
Salary Range: $49.70 - $64.55 Hourly
Management: No
Schedule: Part-Time 9:00 AM - 17:00 M
Reports To: Admin., Director of Acute Care Programs.
Summary: Responsible for effectively coordinating the Stroke Program, Also responsible for implementing and maintaining compliance with any external DNV, American Stroke Association regulatory requirements, and internal benchmarks. Working with the Medical Director of the program leads, directs, and negotiates through collaboration with physicians and staff to care delivery that ensures efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and expected clinical outcomes. Provides specialized nursing knowledge and expertise functioning as a clinician, educator, and consultant to medical/nursing staff, patients, and families.
Requirements: Current AHA BLS, and AHA ACLS certification required. Evidence of skill in leadership, teaching, creativity, initiative, communication skills, and change process. Five (5) years of acute care experience. Critical Care experience, Cath Lab experience, Stress Test experience, SCRN preferred. Previous Stroke experience within the last 2 years. Neuroscience nursing experience and experience in caring for and assessing stroke patients. Experience in coordination and education. BSN required a Master's Degree in Nursing, Clinical Specialist or Nurse Practitioner preferred. NIHSS Certification.
